<p>Emma, a college classmate of mine and fellow devoted photographer, passed in late December 2008. While I was not close friends with Emma, I am stunned and incredibly saddened by the early loss of a charismatic, intelligent, and passionate artist, with whom I shared darkrooms for 2 years. While my best wishes go out to all whom she has touched, I’d like to point out an <a href="http://epc.buffalo.edu/authors/bernstein/blog/archive/EBB-school.html">essay</a> Emma wrote, about the difficulty of mediation and the necessity of love and art.</p>
