About

I was 10 when I left my native Beijing and moved to Paris. My mother worked for the United Nations Environment Programme, and I went to a French-English bilingual school. After high school, I attended the University of Chicago. I started out in computer science, but spent most of my time studying photography, art history and media theory, and designing lighting for theater, and finally graduated with honors in Interdisciplinary Studies in the Humanities, with emphasis on photography and theater.

I moved to New York after graduation, and in the first year did graphic design for a photographers agency in Chelsea, theater production for an avant-garde performance venue in the East Village, and art market research for a fine art advisory company, simultaneously. I also worked on many freelance projects, mostly photographing theater and performance in the thriving downtown scene. I slept conservatively.

Now into my second year in the Big Apple, I am concentrating on more select projects in graphic design, photography, and lighting design for theater, while pondering plans for graduate studies in the U.S. or Europe.
